This mixed-media watercolor and acrylic painting resulted from a photograph that I too at Pacific Beach, San Diego California USA with my IPhone 12 Pro Max. One night when I was photographing the sunset I noticed a group of people with a small child and a dog holding hands on the beach. There was a sailboat with people enjoying the sunset. I decided that the group of people had lost a loved one and had his or her ashes scattered at sea, perhaps from that sailboat. That’s why I titled the photograph “She is in a Better Place”. When my brother in law died, I printed and framed the photo for my sister in law. I have wanted to paint the photo for a long time and finely did it. It is my favorite.
I have been interested in digital art for 10 years. I am always looking for new iPad applications to enhance my collection mostly of flowers and birds in the San Diego and Encinitas area. I love sunrises and sunsets. I also have a hummingbird feeder which makes interesting subjects of the hummingbirds. I have also worked with polymer clay, watercolor, and pastel. My subject is often my cat named Splotchy. I am originally from Gulfport Florida and now live in San Diego California. I love to walk and my camera always comes with me.
